Addiction is in us and between us. Those who work in early recovery and in treatment centres know the struggles that clients have with controlling their urge to use alcohol or other substances even when they understand how devastating the results may be on their life and that of their families. It is as if they know what is good for them, accept it, and do the opposite.
While in recovery there can be days that creep by so slowly you’d swear some have been deliberately stretched just to torture you. Why is time moving so quickly for her but dragging it’s butt for me? Have you ever felt like that?

The body is a miracle, really. It rewards us with boundless vitality if we take care of it as well as providing recovery and healing if it's injured or abused. Mine has healed broken bones, gaping wounds and sickness. I sometimes feel I’ve had more than my share until I look around me. I see people who’ve had to recover from major heart and lung surgeries, organ removals, cancer, and debilitating illness. By comparison, I’m very lucky.
